Shillington

June 28: West Lawn 4, shillington 3 >> A three-run rally in the bottom of the seventh inning fell just short of bringing the Red Sox back for victory against the Owls in Berks County League play.

Zachary Wyrick, Noah Angstadt and Nick Kosenske (two RBI) each had two hits for Shillington, which outhit West Lawn by a 10-7 margin. Noah Weber took the pitching loss, touched for all the Owls’ runs and hits.

July 1: Boyertown 7, shillington 2 >> Ryan Weller collected five RBI as the Bears defeated the Red Sox on a special night at Bear Stadium, commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Borough of Boyertown. Weller had a two-run single to highlight a four-run third, then broke open a close 4-2 game with a bases-loaded double in the sixth. Bears ace Andrew Bauer pitched 1-1/3 innings in relief, getting out of a tight jam in the sixth inning to earn the save in relief of starter Grant Fronheiser. For Shillington, three different batters (Earl Kochel, Austin Baker, and Justin Delvecchio) had two hits apiece.

July 2: Shillington 6, Norchester 4 >> Phillip Henry swung the big bat for the Red Sox as they outlasted the Bulldogs in their Berks County League contest.

Henry went 2-for-4, doubling twice and driving in three runs. He was among the five Shillington players with two hits, the others Noah Weber, Hunter Reeser, Alex Sczepkowksi and Matt DeMarco.
