The event staff of the 10th annual Quaker Steak & Lube Dirt Track Heroes Show continues to add the finishing touches on what will be another great event coming together as the past, present and future of auto racing joins forces together under one roof in Phillipsburg, N.J. The Dirt Track Heroes Car Show will be primed and ready to go when the doors of the Phillipsburg Mall swing open to welcome the return of the show on opening day set for Sunday, March 5th. The show encompasses the majority of the local short track scene and will continue its week long run through Saturday night, March 11th.

The Phillipsburg Mall, located on Route 22 East in Phillipsburg, N.J., has proven to be a popular setting for this special event and will offer a multitude of race cars, racing memorabilia, collectibles and photos on display throughout the course of the show. The week long show continues to be free of charge to the Mall traffic and the 2017 edition of the show will be the trend setter of the many shows that are scheduled during the year. With an exciting and diverse schedule of events to whet the appetite of any true race fan, large crowds are expected to fill the wide walkways of the Phillipsburg Mall.

The newest edition to the list of great sponsors for the popular show is the Denise and Randy Smith promoted Hamlin Speedway. Located in the heart of the Poconos Mountains, the Hamlin Speedway was resurrected from a dormant state twelve years ago by the Smith Family and with a solid working staff have transformed the facility into a show place for seven divisions of racing every Saturday night that features a solid roster of some of the most talented driving stars who are beginning to make their mark in the world of motorsports.

The Dirt Track Heroes Show is extremely proud and thankful to the great list of associate sponsors assembled for the upcoming show. In place thus far is the IRCO Community Federal Credit Union who has been a sponsor since the inception of the show in 2008. Also included are Smith Fabrications, home of the Stage One Modifieds, Premio Foods offer a great line of Sausage Products, R&F International Muffler & Brake, Alex’s Tire/Breidingers Speed Shop, Enterprise Car Sales, Marotcci’s Automotive, Searock Fabrication and Speed Supplies and Jeff’s Automotive.

All historical racing groups including Flemington, Tri State, Reading, Harmony and Nazareth will have their memorabilia on display and their many scrapbooks open for the fans to take another long look at the glory years of racing and possibly find a picture or two they want to purchase as a keepsake from past glory or racing exploits.

In previous mall events, cars on display included big and small block Modifieds, Sportsman, Micro-Sprints, Midgets, 305. 358, 360 and 410 Sprints, Wingless Sprints, Drag Cars, Late Models, go-karts, quarter midgets and a broad variety of vintage and restored race cars. Hamlin, Mahoning, Snydersville, New Egypt, Bridgeport, Grandview and Big Diamond will again be among the many speedways involved with the 2017 show. The week-long event will set aside one evening to salute the “Stars of Tomorrow” with a special night for the budding young racing talents competing with the many quarter midget clubs in the local area and this night has proven to be one of the highlights of the week as many will be giving their first ever interviews to a large crowd.

The Dirt Track Heroes Car Show will again offer a great keepsake event souvenir program book and shirt. The Phillipsburg Mall is open Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and from Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

* * *The NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series welcomes Lauren Fischer as the new Miss Thunder on the Hill for the upcoming 2017 racing season. Lauren will make her debut on Sunday, May 28, for the Memorial Day Triple Thunder Thriller at Grandview Speedway.

A native of Sewell, New Jersey, Lauren was the first runner-up in this year’s Ms. Motorsports Pageant. The 26-year-old is an avid race fan and when she’s not at the race track she works as a hairstylist and enjoys boating, fishing and hunting.

As Miss Thunder on the Hill, Lauren will be at every race, interacting with fans at pre-race festivities, will participate in the pre-race pit tours, Inside-Out promotion, and throughout each night’s racing events. In addition to her duties at the races, Lauren will represent NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series through various promotional efforts and will be a fixture of the series’ social media efforts on Facebook and Instagram. She’ll also accompany the race winners in Victory Lane.

The NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series kicks off on Sunday, May 28 with the Triple Thunder Thriller a 358 vs. Big Block Modified showdown that includes Sportsman, and MASS Sprint Cars.

The season continues just two-weeks later with the invading USAC National Wingless Sprint Car Series on Tuesday, June 13 competing with Grandview’s premier racing division the T.P.Trailers NASCAR 358 Modifieds also on the card.

Of course fans can also check out the Saturday night NASCAR racing action at Grandview with the Modifieds, BRC Late Models and Sportsman the regular attractions. The season gets started with a free-to-the-public practice session on Saturday, March 25th starting at 12 noon. The practice is open to all racers.

Officially the season goes off on Saturday, April 1 with a tripleheader show of T.P.Trailers Modifieds, BRC Late Models and Sportsman with racing starting at 7 p.m.
