The 7th annual Conrad Weiser Hits for Hope Tennis Tournament is set for June 20-25, again drawing a large player pool from locally and beyond. The tournament which raises money for a different charity each year, is the largest tennis tournament in Pa. with over 300 players each year and is the third-largest tennis tournament on the east coast of the United States.

This year the proceeds benefit underprivileged children through the YMCA of Reading and Berks County. Over the seven years of the tournament, the event has raised over $35,000 total for local charities.

The tournament, which runs Tuesday through Sunday 8 a.m.-10 p.m., will feature players of all ages, from under 10 to 75 with tournament offerings of all ages and skill levels.

Its marquee evening on Saturday, June 24 features the Berks County Tennis Night of Champions Gala/Awards night, held at the main tournament site (Conrad Weiser Tennis Facility (behind CW Middle School), 347 E. Penn Ave. Robesonia, Pa.) This year’s induction class (The Blakely Family and Larry Zerbe) will be inducted into the Berks County Tennis Hall of Fame along with awards for Merv Heller Memorial Scholarship, Berks County High School Player of the Year and the donation to the YMCA of Reading & Berks County.

On Saturday, June 17, in conjunction with the tennis tournament, the Run for Hope 5K race is set for 9:30 a.m.
