Hundreds of area residents attend the Dec. 22 grand opening and ribbon cutting of the Leesport Dunkin Donuts at 248 S. Centre Avenue.
During the three-hour event, the standing room only crowd enjoyed a wide variety of donuts and coffee, visited with Santa and Mrs. Claus, entered to win several raffles, and took with them a number of free giveaways including a travel mug.
In his opening remarks, Leesport Mayor Granville Sandridge welcomed the Zlocki’s to Leesport and said, “You’ll do well here.” Sandridge later commented, “Mark has been great to work with and we thank him for his donation to our community.”
“This couldn’t have come at a better time”, said Councilman David J. Reimer Sr. “The recreation committee recently discovered that the Merry-Go-Round is broken beyond safe repair and needs to be replaced. This donation will help defray some of the cost of what will likely be a very expensive item for the playground,” Reimer added.
