The Northeast Berks Chamber of Commerce kicked off its 30th anniversary and opened its new season of breakfast meetings with a Legislative Update at Lyons Fire Company on Sept. 21.

Sen. David G. Argall (R-Schuylkill/Berks) and Sen. Judy Schwank (D-Berks) were the featured speakers. The Senators presented a Citation to Northeast Berks Chamber of Commerce to recognize its 30th year.

The meeting sponsor was PA Chamber Insurance, the insurance subsidiary of the state Chamber of Business and Industry, specializing in employee benefits consulting to business of all sizes across the state for than two decades. The Northeast Berks Chamber is a member of the PA Chamber of Business & Industry and its members receive benefits through their association. Katrina Price, benefits consultant, shared information about benefit solutions for healthcare needs and compliance solutions.

Mary Linkevich, director of development at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary in Kempton, was the non-profit presenter. Four times a year, chamber member non-profits share their missions and special events with members during breakfast meetings.

Beginning in September 2018 and culminating in September 2019, the Northeast Berks Chamber launches a year of activities, programs and special projects to commemorate its 30th anniversary.
