A scrap and recycling business in Mohnton expanded and changed its name to Lola’s Scrap & Dumpster Rental Service.
“In 2014, Phil Shorts started a scrap and recycling business in Mohnton. This year, 2019, he has expanded that business and changed the name to Lola’s Scrap and Dumpster Rental Service, L.L.C., servicing commercial and retail customers, and cleanups,” said Office Manager Nikki Taylor.
Taylor is the mastermind behind the new business coming up with the name Lola’s Scrap & Dumpster Rental Service. Lola is the name of a beloved yellow lab owned by Shorts, the owner and driver of the business.
Bev Martin of Cleverly Designs came up with their logo with a picture of Lola.
Their truck pulling a dumpster decorated for the recent Elverson Halloween Parade. The truck had a shark-toothed face. The blue dumpster featured a sea theme with dolphins, whales and fish.
Taylor is in charge of the advertising, sales and logistics of the company. She likes to say, “We at Lola’s are committed to the environment,” their tag line that sets them apart from the crowd.
They make every effort to recycle anything that is recyclable.
“Our full-service scrap company is the faster retriever of your scrap metal, anything metal, aluminum, brass, stainless. If it’s metal, we'll retrieve it,” said Taylor.
They strive to offer the most affordable rental of 10, 15, and 20-yard dumpsters in the area; and all dumpsters are checked for recyclables to protect the environment. In a “get to know you” addition, they are offering a 10 percent discount off their already reduced dumpster rental prices to anyone who mentions this article.
Their service area includes Berks, Chester, Lancaster counties and surrounding areas with drop off service at your location for convenience.
They operate out of Mohnton, a central location to surrounding Reading areas to name a few: West Reading, Shillington, Wyomissing; and Route 10 to Morgantown. Chester and Lancaster areas like Honey Brook, and Route 23, from New Holland, Elverson, Hopewell, and everything in between to Route 100.
