Bessie L. (Blatt) (Christman) Webb, a former beautician and restaurant owner, died April 19 in the Reading Hospital.Webb, 66, of Bowers, was the widow of Russell R. Webb, who died Nov. 24, 2004, and the late Robert Christman, who died in October of 1962.

She operated a beauty salon in her home for many years as well as at the Topton Lutheran Home and the Laurel Living Center in Tilden Township. She formerly worked as a cook at the Reeser's-Wegman's Restaurant, Tuckerton and the Moselem Springs Inn, Fleetwood. She owned and operated the former Bessie's Home Cookin' in Topton for more than 10 years, retiring in 2003.

Born Nov. 24, 1940 in Centre Township, she was a daughter of Mary M. (Miller) Blatt, Mohrsville and the late Lloyd M. Blatt, Sr.

She was a member of Christ (Mertz) Lutheran Church, Rockland Township.

She was a member of the Lyons Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.

She acquired her GED from Reading High School in 1966 and graduated from Empire Beauty School, Reading, in 1968.

She is survived by a son, Jamey R., husband of Traci (Hollenbach) Webb of Fleetwood.

Other survivors include her two sisters: Mary Jane (Blatt) Farr, Mohrsville and Sarah (Blatt) Steficek of Hamburg; and three brothers: John E. of Boyertown; James F. of Leesport; and Lloyd M. Jr. of Mohrsville.

There are two grandchildren, Alexandria J. and Gabriella C. Webb.

She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, as well as great-great grand nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Joan (Blatt) (Symons) Reber in 1982 and a brother, William L. Blatt in 1966.

Services were held April 26 at Christ (Mertz) Lutheran Church, Dryville. Burial was at Hope Cemetery, Rockland Township. Ludwig Funeral Home of Kutztown was in charge of arrangements.
