The body of a Hamburg man was discovered Sunday on a bank of the Schuylkill River near the borough in Tilden Township, state police said Monday.
Troopers from the Hamburg station responded shortly after 11 a.m. to the 100 block of Hill Drive after someone reported finding a body on the western edge of the river across from Route 61 in Hamburg.
Investigators identified the deceased as Chad Blackston, 49. He was pronounced dead at 11:50 a.m. by Berks County Deputy Coroner Jason Kantner.
Troopers said the death investigation is continuing. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon in Reading Hospital to determine the cause of death.
