Berks Opera Company is pleased to present a concert of American Classics, performed by Boyertown alumni. Many of these singers are pursuing professional musical careers, and this is a rare chance to hear them in action at home and celebrate Boyertown’s renowned musical tradition.

Broadway and Jazz Standards will be held Saturday, May 21 at the Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles, 85 S. Walnut Street, in Boyertown.

Berks Opera’s Artistic Director Francine Black said the following about the event:

“We have an incredible opportunity to hear and see some of Boyertown’s legendary alumni and faculty perform a concert of fabulous musical selections from the American treasury of folk, jazz and Broadway May 21 at the Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles. These amazing talents, who once graced our high school stage to sold out performances, are making big names for themselves in the professional and academic world. We’ll hear such luminaries as Julia Kershetsky, Peter and Kelly Leibensperger, CJ Hartung, Orin Strunk, Michael Agatone, Jamie Riffle-Cullipher, Tamara Black, and our very own Maestro Chris Cinquini, among a treasury of others.

As a former faculty member of Boyertown Area School District and current Artistic Director of Berks Opera Company, I feel an enormous sense of pride to be privileged to host such a musical extravaganza to celebrate Boyertown’s 150th Anniversary and to join all the artists in honoring a community and school that has a created a place where children can learn and grow and excel.”

Doors open at 7 p.m. The cost of admission includes Frecon Cidery tastings and treats from Godiva. Seating is limited. For reservations, e-mail or call, 484-752-2462.
