The Boyertown Borough Council is considering plans to work with The Boyertown Area YMCA in rebuilding the community pool, which is located on South Madison Street.The Pool Rehabilitation Committee will soon "apply for a grant with The Pottstown Area Health & Wellness Foundation for a design and build package," said councilmember Lori Carnes.
After reconstruction, "it must continue to be used as a community swimming poolopen to anyone in the community, not just YMCA members," pointed out Borough Manager, Patricia Spaide.
At Carnes suggestion, councilmembers passed a motion 6 to 0 that will allow the council's solicitor, Christopher Hartman, to discuss matters of legality about financial options for the pool rehabilitation project with The YMCA's acting solicitor, Jeff Boyd.

In Public Utilities, a motion passed to grant the council's bid for the purchase of five ISCO sewage flow meters to Goel Services," which operates out of Landover, Maryland. The bid totaled $32, 000.
New councilmember, Raynard Spaide, chairperson to the Public Communication Committee, mentioned the possibility of starting a monthly column for the borough council in The Boyertown Area Times.
The borough's next council meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m., Monday, March 3.
