The Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles is pleased to announce an exciting new event for 2016. Cars, Cocktails & Candy will be held Friday, Jan. 22, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Museum gallery. This first-time event is sure to be an exciting new addition to the Boyertown Museum’s calendar.
Evoking the feeling of a happy hour, Cars, Cocktails & Candy will incorporate specialty cocktails and select wines into a trip through the decades from the 1910s to the 1950s. Each decade will feature a cocktail or wine along with specially paired candies. A car from the Museum’s collection will feature as a backdrop to each decades-themed cocktail and candy station. Histories of the cocktails and cars will also be displayed at each station to give visitors a feel for the different time periods featured. The vehicles featured for this event will be a 1913 SGV Touring Car built in Reading, Pennsylvania, a 1928 LaSalle Convertible with custom luxury coachwork, a 1932 Ford Victoria Coupe with V-8 engine, a 1942 International ambulance used by the United States Marine Corps in World War II, a 1953 Henry J with custom fiberglass body, and a 1958 Ford Mister Softee Ice Cream Truck.
Joining the Museum for this exciting event will be the Peppermint Stick Candy Store, which will be providing the sweets. Also part of the festivities will be Cardinal Hollow Winery and Manatawny Still Works, who are providing the wine and the cocktails, respectively. Representatives from both will be on hand to answer questions and serve drinks. Also on hand for the evening will be the nonprofit group Pinups for Pitbulls—look for models from the group to assist with hosting duties for the evening!
The evening would not be complete without hors d’oeuvres. Spring Hollow Golf Club is graciously donating some light refreshments to this event. CD’s Place will also be providing food for this event. There will also be drinks available for those who do not want to partake in the adult beverages. Non-alcoholic Fizzies Candy Beverages will be available and stationed by the Museum’s 1958 Mister Softee Ice Cream Truck.
Entertainment for the evening will be provided by DJ Chuck Loggia, who will be playing music from each of the decades represented. A retro photo booth will also be set up for visitors to take home souvenirs from the evening.
Tickets for this event are available in advance at the Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles and the Peppermint Stick Candy Store (located at 9 South Washington Street, Boyertown, PA). Special advance ticket prices are $30 for non-museum members and $25 for museum members. Advance tickets are available until Jan. 10. Any tickets sold after then, including at the door, will be $35.
