COLEBROOKDALE — A man was shot to death outside a Colebrookdale Township home Thursday afternoon and the death is being investigated as a homicide, Berks County Acting Coroner Jonn M. Hollenbach said.
The victim, who is in his 50s, was pronounced dead at 2:06 p.m. Thursday by Deputy Coroner Terri Straka.
An autopsy is scheduled to be performed Friday morning in Reading Hospital by Dr. Neil A. Hoffman, a forensic pathologist.
Hollenbach didn’t release the victim's name.
Eastern Berks Regional police were dispatched shortly before 1 p.m. for the shooting in the first block of Willow Road, near Blackberry Road.
Hollenbach said the man who was shot didn’t reside in the home.
Police are being assisted by detectives from the Berks County District Attorney’s Office.
District Attorney John T. Adams said the suspect in the homicide is in custody but had no further details.
