Two men were arrested after allegedly stealing two televisions from Wal-Mart, causing a police pursuit across several municipalities on Monday.
Police arrested Kevin Bond, 47, 101 E. Hortter St., Philadelphia, and Carlos Rios-Ramos, 40, of 403 Spring St., Reading.
According to a press release from Exeter Township Police Department, officers dispatched to the Wal-mart at 5900 Perkiomen Ave., for a report of a man who stole two television sets.
After the man, identified as Bond, was approached by store detectives he pulled out a handgun and pointed it at an employee, according to the press release.
Police said Bond entered a Burgundy Ford Focus occupied by another man. Central Berks Police Department observed the vehicle at the intersection of Perkiomen Avenue and Route 562. The vehicle fled police.
Exeter police and other units chased the car into Amity Township and it eluded police.
Shortly after eluding police, the vehicle was seen by Amity police who pursued it into Oley Township. The vehicle lost control and flipped over in a field. The men were arrested after a brief foot chase.
Bond and Ramos-Rios are facing charges of robbery, theft, assault and other related charges.
