Steel River Playhouse is excited to continue with it’s 10th Anniversary season by presenting the entertaining, musical comedy "Nunsense," written by Dan Goggin and directed by Drew Boardman. This show is a fantastically funny spoof about the misadventures of a group of nuns trying to manage a fundraiser. Sadly, the rest of the sisterhood died from botulism after eating vichyssoise prepared by Sister Julia Child of God. As a result, they put on a variety show to raise the desperately needed funds to bury their dearly departed. The performance takes place in the school gym where eighth-grade students are getting ready to perform "Grease."
An entertaining show with a wonderful cast will undoubtedly mark for a fun evening. Some of Steel River Playhouse’s most beloved performers are taking the stage to play these feisty nuns who will surely lift your spirits. Genevieve Brogdon plays ballet-loving Sister Leo, Lisa Hendricks plays street-wise Sister Robert Anne, Amanda Morrell plays befuddled Sister Mary Amnesia, Kathryn Tilley plays the Mother Superior Sister Regina and Alicia Huppman plays mistress of the novices Sister Mary Hubert.
The second longest running Off-Broadway show, this hit production is guaranteed to delight and entertain audiences of all ages. Along with Director Drew Boardman, the following creative team help bring this one of a kind musical comedy to life. Musical Director John Williams, Choreographer Michael Roman and Stage Manager Cathy Sebatino.
