Recently, two individuals have chosen to spread their orthodontic professional services to the Gilbertsville area.
Dr. David McSurdy and Dr. Sarah Pavlow, of Smile Specialists, have recently opened an office in Gilbertsville in an addition to their office in Collegeville.
'I grew up around here, went to Perkiomen Valley High School. I remember all of the farmland and visits to Zerns. The area has changed so much through residential and commercial development,' said Dr. McSurdy.
McSurdy decided to open the additional office for several reasons, such as parking and general patient comfort.
'We're looking forward to providing service to more people, and we hope to create jobs-right now we are sharing the staff between the two offices,' said McSurdy.
According to McSurdy, the office offers a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere for patients with plenty of open space and windows. The doctors have already received feedback from patients that the Gilbertsville office offers a great feeling.
McSurdy is a 1976 graduate of Perkiomen Valley High School in. He received his dental degree from Temple University, followed by a specialized training in orthodontics at Fairleigh Dickinson University. He has been practicing orthodontics since 1986.
Pavlow is a graduate of Plymouth Whitemarsh High School and a 1997 graduate of Penn State. She graduated from Temple University School of Dentistry in 2001. She received her certificate to practice orthodontics and her Master of Science degree from the University of Florida in May 2005.
The office employs many individuals from the region such as Barto and Pennsburg, and hopes for this trend to continue. The office will host a ribbon cutting to celebrate its opening on Aug. 22.
