€¢Faith, Family and Friends Thank You Block Party from the corner of Braithwaite and Hickory to 76 Braithwaite Lane. €¢Quakertown Historic District

Join Heritage Conservancy's

Historic Preservation Specialist, David Kimmerly, as he discusses the Quakertown Historic District from10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Michener Library. The district includes approximately 1,450 properties in the borough, and it has been nominated to the National Register of Historic Places. A one hour PowerPoint presentation will cover what the National Register is and how Quakertown qualifies for the register. More importantly, the presentation will explain the impact of the designation on the property owner, the funding and incentives that are available, and will include a detailed history and architectural analysis of the historic district. At the conclusion of the presentation, attendees will be invited to join Mr. Kimmerly on a 45-minute walking tour of Quakertown's downtown area, providing new understanding of Quakertown's architectural diversity and the importance of preserving these unique buildings through listing on the National Register of Historic Places. €¢Broadside Film Society The September film will be "Walkabout." On Saturday, September 22, at 7:30 p.m. as always, at the beautiful Historic Train Station in Quakertown. Filmed in 1971, it provides an artful insight into Australian Aboriginal culture and a cross-cultural look at "coming of age." See you all at the next film!

€¢VFW Family Fun Night John Rivers Memorial VFW Post 11322 will be hosting a Family Fun Night at the Quakertown Friendly's on September 25 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. A part of the proceeds will go towards the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

€¢League of Women Voters of Bucks County will be hosting their inaugural meeting of the Upper Bucks Unit on September 25 at the Michener Library in Quakertown. The meeting begins at 7:00 p.m..
