Carl J. Spatz Sr., 72, Tilden Township, died Sept. 28, 2007, at 9:45 p.m. at home.His wife, Jennie G. (Labate) Spatz, died Sept. 14, 1991.
Born in Tilden Township, he was a son of the late Paul J. and Stella L. (Mengel) Spatz.
He worked for 35 years at Reading Tube Corp., now Cambridge-Lee, Ontelaunee Township, last working in maintenance construction until retiring in 1998.
He was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Tilden Township.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, serving in the 101st Airborne Division.
He was a life member of the North American Hunting Club.
Surviving is a son, Carl J. Jr., husband of Maryann E. (Bressler) Spatz, with whom he resided; and three daughters: Yvonne M. (Spatz), wife of Dusty Potter, Delray Beach, Fla.; Sandra L. (Spatz), wife of Jan R. Pluto, St. Lawrence; and Debra L. (Spatz), wife of Robert E. Hoffmaster, Tilden Township.
Other survivors include two brothers, Lester P. Spatz, Centre Township; and Earl Spatz, Florida. There also are seven grandchildren.
He was predeceased by three brothers: Leon R. Spatz, Merlon J. Spatz and Frederick P. Spatz Sr.
Services will be Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in Chapel of St. George at Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Viewing will be Wednesday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in Leibensperger Funeral Homes Inc., Hamburg.
