The One Year Bible Club will meet at 9 a.m. Sunday. Also Sunday, Bible Olympics will be held at 9 a.m. for the Sunday school children. There will be a Movie Night at 6 p.m.
Boy Scout Troop 291 meets Monday, 7 p.m. Alcoholics Anonymous and Al Anon meets in the church on Tuesdays at 8:30 p.m. AA groups also meet at the church on Wednesday (8 p.m.), Thursday (12:15 p.m.), Saturday (10 a.m.) and Sunday (1 p.m.).

A service of communion will be held on Sunday, June 29 at 9 a.m. The Rev. George M. Harpel will deliver the morning message. Participating are Kim Ibach, reader; Leroy and Jean Roshong, Ruth Miller, ushers. Serving as acolyte is Madison Finacchio. The nursey is always available every Sunday during the 9 a.m. service.
The summer schedule of worship will begin on Sunday, June 29 and continue through September 7. There will be one service at 9 a.m. There is no Sunday school during the summer months.

Vacation Church School got off to a fine beginning with more than 100 children enrolled and a staff of more than 40. Together we are learning that Jesus gives us the power to be thankful, to help others, to be brave, to live forever and to tell others about God.
Girls Book Club: Girls going into seventh grade and all the way up through college, please come out for fellowship, fun and growing together in God. Every Tuesday, beginning June 24 at 7 p.m., we will come together to read and discuss the book "Girl Talk with God: What It Means to Pray from the Heart" by Susie Shellenberger. We will find out what it means to have the Creator of the universe for your best friend. The books will be provided. The dedication of the official State Historical Marker commemorating the Rhoads Opera House Fire will take place on June 29 at 1 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery.
Summer Teen Program: The Lutheran Home at Topton is inviting teens from ages 12 to 16 to spend one or more mornings a week helping with activities, ice and water, transporting, visiting and getting to know the special residents. This program begins June 30 and goes through Aug. 22.
Captive Free will be our guests on Saturday, July 12 and Sunday, July 13. They will share some of their old favorites and some newer songs. The junior and senior high youth will worship together at 6 p.m. The lock-in (sleepover) will begin after the worship service, around 7 p.m. The sleepover concludes at 9 a.m. Captive Free will lead a joint Sunday School rally in the Fellowship Hall at 9:15 a.m.
Captive Free is a regional team sponsored by Youth Encounter. This group of young adult ministers throughout the Northeastern region of the United States for one year. They present a faith-encouraging program of music, testimonies, drama and puppetry to inspire people of all ages! Be sure to say hi to Buck, James, Rachel, JD, Doug and Rachel!
Gretna Gle day trip: Elementary youth for K-6th grade on Saturday, July 19 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The activities for this event have been created and designed especially for our children. Age-appropriate, non-competitive games are on the agenda for the day. A picnic is planned so please bring a bag lunch and a drink with you. Transportation provided. We will leave St. John's at 9 a.m; please meet in the back parking lot at 8:45. The cost is $5 per person. Please contact Donna Smith with further questions at 610-369-1024. The participating seniors of the graduating class of 2008 are receiving FaithChests on Saturday, June 28 at the Saturday at Six Service. A celebration dinner for the seniors and their family and friends will be held in the Fellowship Hall at 5 pm. "St. Columbkill Presents," our TV outreach is aired Sundays on Comcast channel 98 at 6:30 p.m. In the spirit of the church's mission to reach all mankind with the Good News of Jesus Christ, our programs reach out to all types of people. Whether parish or professionally produced episodes, the program explores the many facets of the church. Wednesdays at 6 p.m. our Sunday program is repeated.
Kristin Quigley, our parishioner and a student at St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, will be attending World Youth Day in Sidney, Australia on July 15th - 20th. Along with approximately a quarter of a million young people, Kristin will be able to see Pope Benedict and to attend the Masses celebrated by the Pope. We are delighted that Kristin will be representing the Diocese of Allentown and our Parish.
Take a summer break - relax and let the driving to us and $ave Gas Money. Join our Seniors Group on Monday, July 14 for a day trip to the Taj Mahal Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. Cost $25. Always a popular trip, this is open to all adults! You may stay in the Taj, go to any of the other casinos, or stroll up and down the famed board-walk.
