One week into its grand opening, Belle Rouge Salon is breaking the barriers that have segregated hair salons for years.

Belle Rouge Salon, 257 High Street in Pottstown, is a new, multi-ethnic hair, skin and body salon where customers can come to relax and be pampered.

'I have had a vision for years of opening a full service, multi-ethnic salon in the area,' said Tracy Williams, owner of Belle Rouge Salon.ˆ  'I want everyone of every ethnicity, cultural background and hair and skin type to feel comfortable coming in here for their salon services.'

Tracy brings a wealth of experience to her new business.ˆ  She has been a hair stylist for the past 19 years and a massage therapist for the past seven years.

'Most salons cater to only one type of hair,' said Tracy.ˆ  'I, along with the other stylists, are educated and experienced in working with all types of hair.ˆ  We are proud that our knowledge and expertise sets this salon apart from others.'

Belle Rouge Salon offers a wide range of hair services from cuts to color.ˆ  In addition, the salon carries a full line of skin care products for all types of skin.

'Our products for hair and skin are totally organic,' said Tracy.

For hair care, Belle Rouge Salon offers the Eufora line of products.ˆ  Eufora is relatively new to the East Coast but has a very strong and loyal following.

'The Eufora line is a 'green' product line,' explained Tracy.ˆ  'All the ingredients are natural and made with natural fragrances.ˆ  Even the bottles are all made from recycled materials.'

Dosha, the skin care line used by the salon, is also an organic line.

'Everything is made with essential oils so that there is nothing manufactured or synthetic going on the skin,' said Tracy.

Tracy said that Belle Rouge Salon's philosophy is to keep everything 'in sync.'

'It's important to keep things as natural as possible so that we can care for the inside as well as the outside,' she said.ˆ  'When the mind, body and spirit all work as one, it's a much more relaxing and rewarding experience.'

Belle Rouge Salon is open Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m.; Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.; Thursday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m.; Friday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.ˆ  They are closed on Sunday and Monday.

'But our hours aren't 'set in stone'' said Tracy.ˆ  'If we have a customer who needs a service but they can't make it to the salon during our regular hours, we will accommodate them in any way we can to make sure they get what they need.'

Tracy says that the salon is currently focusing on hair, skin and massage services, but hopes to expand into manicures and pedicures.

'It's all about pampering ourselves every now and then,' said Tracy.

Tracy said she has set one goal for her business.

'Our bottom line is, if you come to Belle Rouge Salon and you don't feel at home, we're not happy.'

Tracy's vision of her salon has become a reality.ˆ  And she wants everyone to know that they are welcome.

'It's not a black salon or a white salon,' she said.ˆ  'It's not a Latino or Asian salon.'

'This is a salon that is here for everyone, which makes it a very special type of salon - a 'community' salon.'
