Pottstown Area Public Library gears up for summer reading fun

Beginning June 11 and continuing until supplies run out, read or be read to in this exciting reading challenge. Program is open to non-reading babies to Middle School students. There are prizes to be earned during your reading adventure, including a ticket to the End of Summer Bash, a fantastic fun party! Every time you check out a book you earn a ticket for a chance to win big prizes! (Limit one ticket per child, per day).

Registration required for all events. Events do not require a library card.

July 23-July 26 Students entering 2nd to 7th grade. Registration runs June 11th-July 9th. This four-day workshop is sponsored by the Franklin Institute & GlaxoSmithKline. This years theme is Simple Machines. Sessions run for 45 min. & students must attend all 4 days.

Popcorn Slumber Party June 29, July 13, July 27, and August 3 at 2p.m. Open to everyone! Wear your PJs and bring a sleeping bag. This year we're going retro with some old family favorites. Stop in the library to find out what we're showing! End of Summer bash August 7 at 5p.m. Earn your reading certificate by August to be invited to this not-to-be-missed party!

Summer Reading Program & performances provided by a grant from Trinity Reform Church & Greater Pottstown Foundation. Other sponsors include: Parma Pizza, McDonald's, Philly Pretzel Company, and Rita's Water Ice.

In addition, the Library will be collecting pajamas all summer long that will be donated to crisis shelters in the area. Drop yours off today!
