Darlene D. Wengert, 66, Sinking Spring, passed away June 4, 2008, at 11:15 a.m. in Reading Hospital, where she had been a patient two days.She was the wife of Raymond F. Wengert, who passed away July 9, 2002. Born in West Lawn, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Verna M. (Hettinger) Goshert.
She was a self employed baker and cake decorator for 30 years and a Tupperware manager for 30 years, retiring in December of 2004.
She was a 1959 graduate of West Lawn High School
Mrs. Wengert was a member of West Lawn United Methodist Church, a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of Liberty Fire Company of Sinking Spring for 18 years and a past officer of TOPS 500 Take Off Pounds Sensibly.
Surviving is a daughter, Cynthia A. Wengert, and her fiance, Michael T. Rutt, at home
Other survivors include a sister, Ruth Ann (Goshert), wife of Walter Greth Jr., Douglassville.
She was predeceased by a brother, Paul Goshert, on April 12, 1991.
Services were Monday at 11 a.m. in Bean Funeral Homes, 3825 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, with the Rev. Sherry L. Lantz officiating.
