Services were held for Dorothy Alice (Ritschard) Taney, who died Jan. 27 in Tel Hai, Meadows Health Care Center, Honey Brook, where she resided for the past several years.She was the wife of the late H. Lloyd Taney.
During World War II she was employed by such firms as Jacob's Aircraft formerly of Pottstown; Reikel Brother's; a medical supply company formelry of Kimberton, and Spring City Knitting when it was manufacturing Army war clothing. She also worked as a switchboard operator for the Phoenixville Hospital, and office secretary for the former Pennhurst and Firestone Corporation.
After her retirement, she continued her secretarial duties as a volunteer for St. Vincent United Church of Christ, were she was a member.
Surviving are a son, Bruce L. Taney, husband of Rebecca (Moyer) Taney, of North Coventry; a daughter, Cheryl
(Taney) Sandstorm, wife of Steven Sandstrom, of Hockessin, Del.
There are also three brothers and two sisters.
She was predeceased by her husband, a daughter, one granddaughter, a brother and a sister.
