A former volunteer fireman who lived in Douglass (Berks) Township was sentenced to at least 307 days in Berks County Prison May 10 after he was convicted of sending two underage girls sexually explicit emails and fondling one of them.Michael Dibble, 25, could spend up to 23 months in prison after his conviction in Berks County Court. The sentence includes a five-year probation.

As part of his plea agreement, Dibble-who pleaded guilty to luring a child into a vehicle, unlawful contact with a minor and corrupting minors-must undergo counseling and register with police for the rest of his life.

Judge James M. Bucci also forbade Dibble, who was convicted of corruption of minors in 2004, from being around children after he is released from jail.

Using the screen name "Redneck FF 49," Dibble contacted a 12 and 13-year old girl in Feb. 2006. He met one of the girls in an alley behind her house and the other at a pavilion near the Colebrookdale Elementary School.

According to Berks County Detective Doug Weaver, Dibble confessed to the meetings and conversations. Weaver allegedly discovered an illicit conversation with one of the girls on Dibble's hard drive.

Dibble, who served three months with the Amity Fire Department prior to his July 7 arrest, had also volunteered with Keystone and the Friendship Hook and Ladder companies.
