The Christmas season gets an early start at some of the region's top holiday attractions.
Koziar's Christmas Village near Bernville, named Best Outdoor Christmas Display in the World by Display World Magazine, opens its gates on Saturday, Nov. 4.
Through Thanksgiving, the massive collection of lighted buildings and pathways and detailed holiday scenes in glass-enclosed buildings, will be open 6-9 p.m. Friday and 5:30-9:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. From Thanksgiving through Jan. 1, Christmas Village will be open 6-9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 5-9:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Admission is $7 for ages 13 and older, $6 for seniors aged 65 and older, $5 for ages 6-12 and free to those 5 and younger.
Franklin Township Lions Club's Festival of Lights at Phifer Ice Dam Park in Lehighton gets under way on Saturday, Nov. 25.
The park takes on a magical glow with more than 400,000 lights in a giant, outdoor, walk-through display and the sounds of the seasons playing throughout the scene.
New this year are the skating bears and the music-synchronized light show.
The festival runs 5-9 p.m. Nov. 25 and 26, and Dec. 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 20, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30.
Entrance fees are $4 for adults and $1 for children 12 and younger.
