Ethel (Spangler) Steinhauer, 95, formerly of Hamburg, Allentown and Maple Shade, N.J., died June 6, 2008, in Fellowship Manor, Whitehall.She was the widow of the Rev. Dr. Ralph J. Steinhauer, who died in 1966.
Born in Mohrsville, she was a daughter of the late D. Herbert and Alma (Snyder) Spangler.
She was a 1931 graduate of Allentown High School and graduated from Illman School, now part of University of Pennsylvania, with a teaching degree.
She served as a dedicated wife with her husband during his 32 years as a pastor at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Maple Shade, where she remained a member.
She was president of Gray Ladies at Jefferson University Hospital and a volunteer for many years after her term expired.
Survivors include two daughters, LuAnn Steinhauer and Marion (Steinhauer) Stavin, both of Allentown.
Other survivors include five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, "Little RJ," Ralph J. Sheetz.
Services will be Wednesday at noon in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill, N.J. A visitation will be held Wednesday from 11 a.m. until time of services in the church.
