The Exeter American Legion baseball team split four league games last week. The Blue Jays' record now stands at 6-5 in the Berks League and 12-6 overall.The week began with the Blue Jays traveling to West Lawn to play the defending league champion Owls. The two teams traded leads back and forth but West Lawn came out on top, 7-6.

Exeter plated three runs in the top of the first, but the Owls came right back with three in the bottom of the first then two more in the second. Exeter retook the lead with three in the fourth, but the Owls scored twice in the bottom of the fourth to take the lead for good.

The Blue Jays loaded the bases in the ninth but were unable to score any runs.

Joe Blanchard and Jordan Gottshall each tripled for two of Exeter's 10 hits. Blanchard was the losing pitcher.

On Tuesday, June 17, the Jays played host to Conrad Weiser. Thanks to a three-run seventh and two-run eighth the Blue Jays were able to pull out a 7-3 victory.

Blanchard paced the Exeter offense with three hits (single, double and triple) and two RBIs.

Eric Pepper was the winning pitcher, hurling 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief. He is 2-0 on the season.

On Wednesday, June 18, the Blue Jays played host to Muhlenberg. The A's broke a scoreless tie with two runs in the fourth, then pulled away with a five-run fifth as they defeated the Jays, 7-3.

Exeter's three-runs came on a three-run homer by Chris Lloyd in the sixth inning. Exeter had five hits as a team.

On Thursday, June 19, the Blue Jays traveled to Fleetwood. Thanks to a three-run fifth and a four-run eighth, Exeter came home with a 7-4 loss.

Lloyd paced the Exeter offense with three hits while Gottshall added two hits including a home run for the Jays' first run in the fifth inning.

Blanchard was the winning pitcher and improved to 2-1 on the season.

The Blue Jays then traveled to Bellefonte, Pa. to take part in the Bellefonte Showdown over the weekend.

On Friday, June 20, the Jays defeated Mount Joy Elite, 5-0, then topped Penns Valley, 2-1.

Brian Wrobel hurled a three-hit shutout for Exeter in the victory over Mount Joy Elite. Nate Hummel and Willie Schaeffer each had three hits for the winners.

Schaeffer also had three hits in the victory over Penns Valley.

On Saturday, June 21, the Blue Jays were defeated by Falls, 11-5.

Dan Karst had two hits and a run scored to help the Birdsboro American Legion team top Wyomissing, 12-7.
