The Exeter High School girls' volleyball team closed out the Berks League regular season with a pair of victories. The Lady Eagles improved to 11-3 in the league which was good enough for third place in Division 1 behind first place Daniel Boone and second place Wilson.Exeter's record was good enough to qualify for the league playoffs which began on Monday, October 22. Exeter took on Holy Name, the second place finisher in Division 2.
The winner of that game took on Daniel Boone later in the night in the semifinals. Due to our press deadline, we are unable to report the results of the contests.
The winner of that semifinal match will advance on to the championship match on Wednesday, October 24, at 7 p.m. at Wyomissing High School.
In the other bracket, Wilson (Division 1 second place team) took on Brandywine Heights (Division 2 third place team) battled for the right to take on Division 2 champion Central Catholic.
Exeter completed the regular season last week on Wednesday, October 17, with a victory over
Twin Valley, 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-22).
Mary Hennessy led the way for Exeter with four kills and two aces, while Emily Reeser had one kills and eight aces and Sara Scheirer had three kills and two aces.
Exeter won the junior varsity match, 2-0.
Earlier in the week, Exeter also blanked Muhlenberg, 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-18).
Leading the way for Exeter was Mary Faust who had eight kills and 19 assists. Helen Trimble collected seven kills and Hennessy added five kills and seven digs.
