The Quakertown Food Pantry may be getting the boot from its current Route 309 home in the Upper Bucks Government Services Center, but now volunteers at least have a temporary home.Following a unanimous decision by Quakertown Borough Council during its Aug. 6 meeting, the pantry will temporarily set up shop in the ice skating shelter at Memorial Park.

Council also directed Borough Manager Scott McElree to actively work with the Bucks County Opportunity Council, under whom the pantry has operated since its beginning, and other municipalities that have residents who are seved by the pantry.

The pantry is losing its home due to the construction of a new courthouse building on California Road that will replace the Route 309 center, and will only have room for the district courts and offices.
