James G. Norton, Sr., 74, formerly of Tilden Twp., died Aug. 17, 2008 at Spring Creek Rehabiliation Hospital, Harrisburg, where he was since May.He was the husband of June E. (Seitz) Weiss Sprenkle Norton, a guest at the Woods at Cedar Run, Camp Hill.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, June M. (Hamm)

Norton, who died April 4, 1994.

Born in Centre Twp., he was the son of the late Thomas Norton III and Amanda (Taylor) Norton.

He worked for 35 years as a welder for Dana Corporation, Reading, retiring in March 1993.

He attended Praise Christian Fellowship, Reading.

Surviving in addition to his wife is one son, Timothy S. Norton, Malvern; and two daughters, Teresa E. (Norton), wife of Danny K. Williams, Hamburg; and Ann M. (Norton) Freed, Hamburg.

Other survivors include one brother, William J. Norton, Bernville; and one sister, Kathleen (Norton) Drohan, in Massachusettes.

There are four grandchildren: Matthew, Shawn, Jodi and Brittany; and three great-grandchildren: Tyler, Dylan and Emalee.

He was preceded in death by a son, James G. Norton, Jr., who died Feb. 3, 2000.

Services were on Aug. 22 at Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg with Pastor Steven L. Graybill officiating. Burial was in Fairview (Belleman's) Cemetery, Centre Twp.
