WWII Army Veteran John D. Chepetz Sr., 88, husband of the late Mary (Pavelchak)Chepetz, of Quakertown, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 15 at the Hospice House of the VNA of St. Luke's in Bethlehem.
Services were held Monday, Jan. 19 at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church.
Born in Somerset Co., PA., he was the son of the late Metro and Anna (Pitcok) Chepetz.
Surviving is his daughter Mary Zalenski of Columbia Cross Roads, PA; his brother Michael Bodnar of Lakeside, OH; grandchildren Christine Davis, Angela Reid, and Michael Rapchinski; and great grandchildren Joey, Anna, and Julie. Along with his wife and parents, he is predeceased by his son John D. Chepetz Jr.
John was a member of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in Pottstown. He was a WWII Army veteran and a lifetime member of the VFW. He also served in the Civilian Conservation Corps.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, 1230 W. Hanover Street, Pottstown, PA 19464. Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 711 N. Franklin Street, Pottstown, was in charge of arrangements.
