The annual lighting of the Christmas tree in Leesport will herald an evening of merrymaking December 8 at the intersection of Main and Lee streets. The festivities will kick off at 6 p.m. with live music performed by the regionally acclaimed Mount Laurel Brass.
Before the lighting, everyone can enjoy a variety of stations where they can personalize an ornament for the tree, write letters to Santa, and savor some hot chocolate and cookies.
Santa will arrive on his custom sleigh around 7 p.m. escorted by the Leesport Fire Company.
The event is entirely sponsored by Leesport businesses; Dino’s Wings and Things, Geissler Tree Farm Inc., and DJSLAMM Productions.
The event is free.
