My heartfelt gratitude is extended to all of the vendors, volunteers, entertainers, patrons and fire police who contribute to the success of the Saucon Valley Farmers' Market, which will be starting its ninth week of the 2008 Season. This week we were honored to have Bud Prosser guide Trolley Car tours and give historical presentations onboard for about three hours straight. Next week Bud will officiate our first annual egg toss contest.

Cindy Surovi, of Lower Saucon Township, returned as Mother Goose, reading and sharing wonderful stories with the children.

I was overjoyed and taken by surprise when Cliff Cole and Daybreak serenaded me with a rendition of "Happy Birthday," led by Bud Prosser on the bull-horn and Hellertown Mayor Richard Fluck and the entire farmers' market. I feel it is to you that I should sing my song.

I am overflowing with pride to be a part of the

Hellertown/Lower Saucon Community and to see your smiling faces each Sunday, listening to the laughter of friends, meeting friends, welcoming newcomers, sharing coffee and scones or relaxing in the gift of each other.

For me, this community is filled with love, kindness, respect, pride and dedication and, to my amazement, I stood before a tree which spoke those words.
