On July 1, the residents of the Wyomissing Area School District will go to the polls to vote on a referendum to spend approximately $37 million dollars to build a new elementary school in West Reading and to make certain repairs to other facilities in the district. This will be first "referendum" of its kind in Berks County since the implementation of new borrowing laws for school districts in Pennsylvania.

The school board is defying the Elections Board's decision to form a PAC if they are spending money to influence the electorate.

The board is willing to spend even more to defend their position.

Those who do not support the referendum must and have abided by existing laws.

The board should do the same. If the project had merit it would pass on its own. What the administration and board is doing is appalling.
