Crystal Raifsnider was not thinking of becoming an entrepreneur when she baked her first batch of dog biscuits in May.
The 12-year-old just wanted a healthy treat for her three pooches. The all-natural peanut butter cookies were such a hit, she decided to make and market them.
Crystal and her father, Rickey Raifsnider, Blandon sold the homemade dog snacks Sunday at a flea market in support of Humane Pennsylvania.
The fundraiser outside the Humane Veterinary Hospital, 1729 N. 11th St., drew vendors of collectibles, handcrafts, masks and more.
Vendors and shoppers were encouraged to donate bags of pet food in exchange for cups of cocoa.
Crystal’s homemade treats, called Bristol’s Biscuits after the family’s chihauhau, also are available by mail order or porch pickup.
They are available in three sizes and an assortment of flavors, including apple, banana and sweet potato.
