Officers responded at 9 a.m. Friday to a report of a man barricaded with a gun in a house at 259 Midway Ave.
The report was made by the victim, Shaine L. Hawk’s girlfriend, who told police the couple argued after he returned that morning to the home they shared. The verbal altercation became physical, and Shaine L. Hawk pointed a shotgun at the victim and threatened her life and his own. The victim fled the house and drove away in her vehicle.
Police recovered a loaded shotgun at the scene.
Shaine L. Hawk was taken into custody without incident.
He was arraigned before District Judge Ann L. Young and remains free on $5,000 bail.
Investigators learned Hawk’s father also engaged in a verbal and physical altercation with the victim Friday morning. The elder Hawk also is accused of attempting to run over the victim with his vehicle and of taking items belonging to the victim.
He is awaiting a preliminary hearing on the charges.
