Lois Ann Mast of Masthof Press announced the release of "Lancaster Landmarks: Covered Bridges," a book featuring 20 19th century covered bridges currently in use.Written by Gerry Kershner, Lancaster County author, the book features his photos with accompanying verses describing the following bridges: Baumgardner Mill, Bitzer Mill, Bucher Mill, Erbs, Forry Mill, Jackson Sawmill, Kauffman Distillery, Landis Mill, Leaman Place, Lime Valley, Mercer Mill, Neff Mill, Pine Grove, Pinetown, Pool Forge, Rose Hill, Schenck Mill, Siegrist Mill, Weaver Mill and White Rock. Detailed directions to the covered bridges are included.
Kershner writes from his home in northern Lancaster County. His writing has been published nationally by Day Spring Cards, Discipleship Journal, Purpose and The Quiet Hour. His prevous publications include Lancaster Landmarks and Lancaster Landmarks Coloring Book. He is planning a 2008 wall calendar featuring covered bridges and a book on Pennsylvania Dutch Christmas tradtions. he says, "I'm really excited about the opportunity to share my interest in our local heritage with others through these Masthof press publications."
