Rep. Bob Mensch (R-Montgomery) is reminding Montgomery County residents to register to vote in the Tuesday, April 22, Primary Election.The last day to register to vote in the primary is March 24. Voters have until April 15 to apply for a civilian absentee ballot. The last day for County Boards of Elections to receivevoter absentee ballots is April 18.
In conjunction with the election, polling officials will be required to check identification of first-time voters and those voting for the first time in a new location. Residents are reminded thatin order to vote in the primary election, they must be registered in Pennsylvania. Approved forms of photo identification include:
Â€¢ID issued by an Commonwealth agency.
Â€¢ID issued by the U.S. government.
Â€¢U.S. Armed Forces ID.
Â€¢PA driver's license or ID card issued by PennDOT.
Approved forms of non-photo identification must include the name and address of the elector and may be one of the following:
Â€¢Voter's identification card issued by the voter registration commission.
Â€¢Non-photo ID issued by the Commonwealth.
Â€¢Non-photo ID issued by the U.S. government.
Â€¢Current utility bill.
Â€¢Current bank statement.
