The Westy Bar and Grill will once again be welcoming some four legged customers, as well as their fans and advocates, this coming Saturday.
The Animal Rescue League and The CatWorks Inc. are teaming up, as they had earlier this year, for the Spring Adoption Event and Dip Off.
Attendees are invited to make their favorite dip and to bring along chips, crackers, and other foods that are good for dipping to enter it in the contest. Entries will be judged and voted on with cash prizes being award to the winners.
Even more important than the contest will be the dogs and cats that are available for adoption. Some will even be at the restaurant while others will have their photos on posters that attendees can look at during the event. This event is being held to help the ARL Grey Muzzle and other such non-profit rescue organizations, like The CatWorks Inc., fix broken legs and other surgical repairs that are above and beyond the regular day to day veterinary costs which are too costly to repair rather than euthanizing the animals. Once the animals are on the mend, the next step is of course finding them good homes.
At the last event, attendees were able to greet some of the dogs available for adoption and the dogs were more than happy for the extra attention.
There will also be raffle prizes, baked goods and food and drinks from The Westy available to order. Be sure to stop by The Westy on Saturday, April 26, between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. to help out a great cause, meet some wonderful animals, try so homemade dips and enjoy an afternoon out.
For those interested in donations, the groups are asking for Purina puppy chow, dry kitty cat chow and Friskies canned food for a special raffle.
