January Students of the Month
Matthew is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Dybowski of Blandon. Matthew aspires to attend a four year college to major engineering. Matthew has been involved in the following clubs and activities at Fleetwood Area High School: National Honor Society, Rho Kappa Honor Society, Interact Club, Science Olympiad, Chess Club, Basketball, Tennis, Track & Field and Football. Also, Matthew supports his community by dedicating his time to volunteer for adopt a highway project, The Greater Berk’s Food Bank, Relay for Life Safe Halloween, and Breakfast Brothers. Matthew really admires his parents because they have given him endless love and support for anything his siblings or he has wished to purse.
Shelby Rae Claytor
Shelby is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Claytor of Fleetwood. Shelby’s future plans include attending college to major in materials science and engineering. Shelby has been involved in the following clubs and activities at Fleetwood Area High School: Science Olympiad, Artifact Fine Arts Magazine, Film Club, Marching Band, Jazz Band, Choraliers, National Art Honor Society, National Honor Society, and Rho Kappa Honor Society. Also, Shelby has dedicated herself to the community by being actively involved in Girls Scouts and a camp counselor at Girl Scout Camp. One person Shelby really admires is Rosalind Franklin. Shelby states that Franklin pushed boundaries as female chemist.
February Students of the Month
Samuel is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Schappell of Blandon. Samuel future plans include attending Syracuse University to major in Broadcasting and Digital Journalism. Samuel has been involved in the following clubs/activities at Fleetwood Area High School: basketball, soccer, National Honor Society, Science Olympiad, Tiger TV, Tiger Times and Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society. Also, Samuel has dedicated himself to the community by being actively involved in volunteering at the Greater Berks Food Bank and Breakfast Brothers. Samuel really admires his sister, Haley Schappell. Samuel states his sister is brave, smart, and a strong role model. She is a proud member of LGBTQT community and is inspiring me to fight for equality alongside of her.
Leah is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Dewald of Kutztown. Leah’s future plans include attending college for an undergrad in biomedical science and later attending dental school. Leah has been involved in the following clubs/activities at Fleetwood Area High School: cheerleading, track and field, Student Council, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Yearbook, cross country, and the musicals. Also, Leah has dedicated herself to the community by being actively involved in volunteering as a youth and middle school assistant cheer helper and helps staff the Art Event at the high school. One person Leah really admires is her grandmother. Leah states that her grandmother always looks at the bright side of any situation while spreading joy to everyone around her.
