Oley Valley's Western Berks Jr. League team split a pair of games last week.On Monday, June 2, Oley traveled to Exeter and came home with a commanding 16-5 victory.
With the game tied at 3-3 after one inning, Oley exploded for seven runs in the second inning. The Lynx added two more in the fourth and five in the fifth to end the game due to the mercy rule.
Matt Smith was the winning pitcher for Oley, allowing five hits and three earned runs in four innings. He fanned five batters. Collin Moyer pitched the final inning.
Moyer and Brill each double for two of Oley's eight hits.
Earlier, the Lynx were blanked at home by High Point, 5-0.
Ralph Biehl took the mound loss ad Oley managed just four hits. Collin Fesi doubled for the Lynx.
