St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran “Smoke” Church


Nov. 22: Thanksgiving Day Service. We invite the community to join us as we gather together to ask the Lord’s Blessing at 10 a.m. Offering to be donated to Northern Berks Ministerium emergency fund.

St. Paul’s invites you to join us every Sunday morning at 9 am for worship service. The worship service is followed with a fellowship time with refreshments. Sunday school starts at 10:15. Our pastor is The Rev Elna Stratton.

The acolyte for Nov. 25 is McKenzie Schaner. The lector is Karen Hartman.

The first Sunday of the month we meet directly after the worship service for healing and individual needs with laying on of hands, if desired. The next one is Dec. 2.

Northern Berks Ministerium

A Fall Harvest and Advent Series will take place on Thursdays in November and December. Worship services begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by a soup buffet. Freewill offerings will benefit the Ministerium’s outreach assistance fund. The schedule: Nov. 29 at Blue Mountain UCC (Strausstown), Dec. 6 at St. Mary Church (Tilden); Dec. 13 at Zion Lutheran (Perry); Dec. 20 at Friedens Church (Shartlesville).

Monthly Faith at the Movies at the Hamburg Strand Theater continues. Admission includes a small drink and popcorn and a donation to the Ministerium fund. Movies begin at 7 p.m. On Nov. 27 see “The Nativity Story” (2006) and Dec. 11 see “The Fourth Wise Man” (1985).

St. Michael's Church


Nov. 25, we worship at 10:15 a.m. We celebrate Christ The King Sunday with Holy Communion with altar distribution. Come partake of the Lamb of God who takes away the Sin of the world, happy are those who are called to His supper. Erosian Ramich, Ella Johnson and Bethanee Ramich will receive their first communion.

Advent Family Night is Nov. 25, 5-8 p.m. in the Social Hall. A covered dish meal will begin at 5 p.m. Puppets by Harley Ludy and friends, 5:45 p.m. 6:45 will begin a children and adult craft. Music by Tom Vollmer and Friends begins at 7:15 p.m.

Our Worship Service was held at 9 am, followed by Sunday School for all ages at 10:30 am. Pastor Dave Long presented a thought-provoking message based on God’s Word. Our greeters were Gladys Adam and June Weiskircher. Our nursery attendant was Cori Dixon. Junior church leaders were Meredith Petrucelli and Abbey Shaver. Live Nativity at Bern Reformed UCC will be held on Dec. 1, 5-7 p.m. Live performances, petting zoo, marketplace crafts, choirs, and card signing for active soldiers while enjoying warm cider and goodies. Handicapped parking and ramp accessibility. This is a free event and open to all.
