Dear Editor, In response to Shawn Hessinger's recent guest editorial about reducing the size of the state legislature as proposed by our Senator Mike O'Pake, it is irrelevant to compare Pennsylvania with New Hampshire with its 424 legislators.I admire Senator O'Pake's attempt to save Pennsylvania taxpayers at least $12 million a year by reducing the size of the General Assembly.

In this day and age of improved technology and communication, we don't need 253 legislators in this state.

I hope other legislators and elected officials get the message that we want meaningful reform to cut the costs of government at all levels.

Sincerely, Timothy Ferguson
