The Morgantown Pet Expo returns to the Morgantown Center on March 23 and 24.

Family Pet Shows are designed to educate and entertain the public about the wonderful world of pets. Featuring many pet vendors, educational and entertaining performances, special attractions, hands-on-petting zoo, pet adoptions, and outstanding shopping for pet lovers and their pets.

“We are so excited to be back in Berks County. Our Morgantown Pet Expo is in its 2nd year and features animal attractions and acts perfect for the animal lover at any age,” said show organizer Karen Garetano of Family Pet Shows. “The ever popular Lure Course is back and dogs love to fly around the course – and it is big hit for spectators. Pet parents can try the course with their own dog! We are happy to once again bring great entertainment, educational exhibits, exotic pets, local animal rescue groups and shopping of new pet items to Morgantown.”

Kids and adults alike will love this show watching the incredible pet acts and visiting the many educational animal and wildlife exhibits. The show is also pet friendly, pet owners can bring their own leashed and well-behaved pets with them to enjoy the show. Pet parents can shop throughout the expo at many vendor booths, meet adoptable pets, learn from veterinarians and trainers, and see many new pet products on the market.

Attendees can expect to be wowed by acrobatic dogs and dogs flying through the lure course, rabbit hopping, exotic animals, the rainforest reptile shows, cat show, petting zoo and much more.

Pet entertaining acts and features include:

Gail Mirabella and the Dynamo Dogs Variety Act

These veteran-performing dogs will knock the spectators socks off with their Trick Dog Show Routine, Frisbee Dog Acrobatics and dynamite performances. Gail and her canine friends will wow the crowd as they do all over the country.

Dog Lovers Day Lure Course

Dogs will have a blast running through the lure course and testing out their agility while letting out some energy! Dog love to zip through this course and it’s a blast to watch! (Additional fee charged).

Rabbit Hopping, Guinea Pig Agility

Rabbit Hopping, it’s not the bunny hop you’re thinking of – but talented rabbits who love to jump! Guinea Pit Agility? Move over border collies there’s a new agility in town! Allikatt’s Bunnies will present an agility demo of rabbits hopping and has the guinea pig agility course available to try with your guinea pig all weekend – and there is even a seminar so you can learn how to get involved in this sport with your own hare.

TICA Championship Cat Show

For cat lovers who have never been to a cat show, this is a purrific way to see all different breeds of cats up close.

Rainforest Reptile Show

Kids interested in reptiles? This is an exciting, fascinating adventure through the rare and endangered reptile world. Many exotic reptiles will be at the show, including alligators, snakes, lizards, turtles and more. Listen to Reptile and wildlife experts talking about all kinds of our scaly reptilian friends.

Berks County Sheriff’s K9 Unit

The Berks County Sheriff’s K-9 Unit will present a demonstration. They are designed to portray the skill involved and the work performed by the K9 teams. It will give both children and adults an opportunity to gain knowledge about the K9 Unit.

Piggy Villa

The mission of the Tri-County Pot-Bellied Pig Club is to protect, promote and educate pet prig owners and the public about pot-bellied pigs. Come visit our fun and unique Piggy Villa exhibit with demos throughout the weekend, and learn all you can about pot-belly pigs.

Adoptable Pets

Local rescue groups will be there with adoptable pets. It’s the perfect time to find a furry new friend to add to your family.

The pet expo is expected to bring thousands of people throughout the weekend and features pet vendors offering many pet items and supplies for sale, lots of fun, unique and educational entertainment programs, and many pet professionals from right here in Morgantown and from around the country. From Alpacas, dogs, cats, rabbits, potbellied pigs to exotic wildlife – the pet expo has it all under one roof.

Dennis and Karen Garetano, the show organizers also allow animal rescue groups that are official non-for-profit organizations to have a free space at the event - offering the public information, education on responsible pet ownership and even have adoptable pets on site. Potential pet owners or those looking to add another pet to their family are encouraged to visit the Adoption Area at the expo.

Pet Friendly! Attendees are welcome to bring their own pets to enjoy the show, however they must be leashed, well behaved and up to date on vaccinations and their owners must fill out a waiver upon arrival at the show. Attendees can also participate with their purebred dogs in the Parade of Breeds taking place on Saturday afternoon.
