Jennifer Hetrick of Boyertown has launched a three-year poetry project focusing on manufacturing history in Berks County.
The project focuses on the memories and reflections of seniors who have worked in factories and mills throughout the county. With these reflections, Hetrick writes poems. She recently held a poetry reading at Walnut Woods in Boyertown.
While at Walnut Woods, she read poems based in Boyertown from the second year of her project and her new book which came out in September.
Coming up, she has many library poetry readings lined-up and these are open to the public.
On Monday, Nov. 14, at 6.30 p.m. she’ll be at the Hamburg Public Library with “the lost chapters” and featuring special guest Betty Kunkel. On Thursday, Nov. 17, at 4 p.m. she’ll be at Country Meadows in Wyomissing featuring special featured guests Dick Villforth, Kathryn Beck, and Esther Rolland. The next day, folks can find her at Mifflin Community Library in Shillington at 11 a.m.
