Dear Editor:After reading the story on our public works department in this week's paper, I felt that I needed to write. Being a life long snow buff, I was like a school child, disappointed in what old man winter has brought to us this year....I always like one good old fashioned snow storm. Elected to council, and chairing the public works department has given me further appreciation of that department. So many times on cold and snowy mornings, we know that we just have to dig enough of the way out to get to our well plowed roads, even at 6 a.m. The snow is just one small aspect of our public works, workers that maintain our fields, fill potholes, maintain our streets and sidewalks, and do the so many other things. Last year, for the first time in the borough, we celebrated Public Works appreciation day, and this article was another reminder of how fortunate we are to have this group servicing our great borough.
