Berkshire Travel Agency's downstairs rooms, Wyomissing, were packed with PA Congress 6th District candidate Bob Roggio (D) and PA State House, 128th District candidate John Woodward (D) supporters on Wednesday, Aug. 13 for the grand opening of their Berks County Campaign Office Headquarters.Roggio is running against Jim Gerlach and Woodward against Sam Rohrer.

"This event is to let people know we are here," said Dan Sauder, Roggio's Field Director for Berks/Lehigh Counties.

Around 50 county supporters and interested voters mingled with the candidates and listened to what Roggio and Woodward had offer the county and their district. Bruce Slater, who is running for PA Congress in the 16th District against Joe Pitts, also attended the event to support his fellow Democrats.

Woodward said his main concern is education. "I want to fund education rigorously," said Woodward. He would also like to make healthcare affordable but in a way that doesn't hurt businesses. Woodward is owner and operator of the Third & Spruce CafÃ&Copy; in West Reading.

Roggio said things need to change in Washington because it is broken. "People decide by ideology not by the facts," he said about the current Congress. Some of Roggio's main concerns are education and health-care. Congress 6th District represents Earl Township, Exeter Township, Cumru Township, Robeson Township, Amity Township, Spring Township, Douglass Township, Colebrookdale Township, Lower Alsace Township, South Heidelberg, Wyomissing, Muhlenberg, Sinking Spring, Birdsboro, Mohnton, St. Lawrence, Reading, Bechtelsville, Mt. Penn, Shillington, Boyertown, Kenhorst, West Reading, Bally, Brecknock Township, Caernarvon Township, District Township, Hereford Township, Longswamp Township, Maxatawny Township, New Morgan, South Heidelberg Township, Topton, Union Township and Washington Township. The PA State House, 128th District represents Brecknock Township, Caernarvon Township, Cumru Township, Exeter Township, Mohnton, New Morgan, Robeson Township, Shillington, Spring Township and Wyomissing.
