Light the Way Ministries, Topton, hosted the first annual Rock the Light Music Fest in Bowers on Saturday, Sept. 13 and it was a huge success!Thank you for all your prayers and financial contributions to this incredible event! We had more than 200 people attend, and were blessed with beautiful weather. More than $200 was raised for RTLMF/Operation Net!

Operation Net is a local youth-led organization to help save lives in Africa by providing mosquito nets to

Uganda. Kali Fairchild, of Longswamp Township, visited Uganda this summer and returned with this mission to help purchase mosquito nets. Through June 2009, Fairchild will collect money and then send it to a Reverend based in the African nation.

Fairchild's goal is 1,000 nets by June 2009 and one net costs only $9.50.

We heard many positive comments and everyone seemed to have a blast! People of all ages came out to hear the performers, which featured Joyce and Ed Sturtevant with Cliff Nash, Mike Hirst, Jayson Simonson, Calling Out Closer and Willet.

Everyone enjoyed The Amazing Magi, a magician for the whole family, John Bliesath with his powerful skit "That's My King" and both Tom Post and Kali Fairchild did an excellent job speaking and capturing their listeners.

Many people enjoyed both the Song Writing Workshop led by Ed Sturtevant and anyone could learn to play guitar at the Make Your Own Music Workshop with Butch Imhoff of the Acoustic Roadshow.

Prayers and healing were offered continuously through out the day by our prayer warriors from Spring Valley Church.

Calling Out Closer donated 10 percent of its sales to Operation Net and Gravity Book Store donated $1 of every CD it sold.

Thank you to all the entertainers, workers and those who helped to make Rock the Light an incredible event.

Many great prizes were raffled off including an autographed guitar and more than 20 gift certificates, 30 prizes in all. Congratulations to all the winners!

We had delicious food from Market Cafe and Sweet Temptations with free prizes and give-a-ways.

Child Sponsorship was offered and some children were sponsored.

East Penn Manufacturing and Weaver's Hardware helpd to sponsor Rock the Light Music Fest.
