If you could give your boy the greatest gift of all, what would it be? It wouldn't be money or anything money can buy. Whether you are rich or poor, the greatest gift is within your power because the gift helps a boy become a person with a good feeling about himself and a genuine concern for others. Cub Scouting can help you provide this gift. Cub Scouting is a neighborhood-centered program for boys in grades one through five. It combines fun with educational activities and lifelong values. It also helps parents to help their boys strengthen character, develop good citizenship and enhance both mental and physical fitness. In addition, the program provides boys with positive peer groups and tools to shape their future. Research conducted by Louis Harris & Associates indicates that one year in the Cub Scout program provides a healthy, safe environment in which boys learn important values and develop self confidence. The research also indicates that the program provides a forum in which parents and sons spend quality time together going places, doing projects, talking and reading.

In a society where your son is often taught that winning is everything, Cub Scouting teaches him to do his best and to be helpful to others as expressed in the Cub Scout Promise, Motto, and Law of the Pack. Become a part of Cub Scouting with your son, and you will find that it is the greatest gift you can give him.
