The victory over Colonial Heights sent the Bears to the winner's bracket final to take on the Virginia state champions from South Richmond.It was looking good for the Bears early. They jumped on the board in the bottom of the first, then loaded the bases with nobody out in the second. But they managed just one run in the inning which proved to be fatal later.
South Richmond cut the lead to one in the top of the third, then tied the game with one in the fourth.
After the Bears regained the lead in the fifth, South Richmond then plated four in the seventh and two in the eighth to take the lead back for good.
Shayne Houck lost his first game of the season (12-1) allowing five runs (five earned) on 12 hits.
Boyertown managed just six hits in the game, including two from Houck who also drove in a run.
