After going 10-4 in the Berks League and making the playoffs, the Daniel Boone High School girls' volleyball team will try to get back to the playoff with a lot of new faces. The Lady Blazers lost some key players from last year's team to graduation, but Head Coach Caitlin Celia likes what she sees in her younger players and is very excited about the future of the team.

'This season we will be young and have our share of ups and downs, but we'll be looking forward to the next few years with this team,' said Celia.

'We are young, but we do have experience through our junior high program and club teams that our players have played throughout the off-season.'

The Daniel Boone girls' volleyball program has seen nothing but success of the last several seasons, and don't expect anything else this year. The question is, can the younger players develop fast enough this year for the team to make a run at the playoffs.

It not all young players on this team. There will be some experienced and talented players on this team. It starts with senior Liama Goodrioch.

'She will be a great support system tohelp the young new players,' said Coach Celia. 'Her experience playing on a traveling team will continue to help this season.'

Courtney Vidovich is a second year starter on the team. Like many of the players on the team, she has played for a traveling team which should make her a much improved player this season.

Sarah Roell is another second year starter who got more experience on a club team.

'Her diversity on thecourt has helped us fill in the spots that we lost last year,' said Coach Celia. 'She is agreat girl with a lot of talent.'

Overall it will be an inexperienced team. The girls' have played together in the junior high program which will help, but they are going to have to grow quickly as players in order to make the playoffs.

The reality of the situation is that this will be a learning year for the Blazers. If they learn quickly, they could do some real damage in the Berks League. But next year and the following year will be more the target for this team. They will have a lot of good young talent grow into a powerful team in 2013 and 2014.
